Step beyond the walls of Fort William Henry and onto some of the most storied and hallowed ground in North America. This fully guided 45-minute walking tour at Fort William Henry explores the documented history, legends, and reported paranormal activity associated with the fort, the 1757 Siege of Fort William Henry, and the events that followed.
Guests will hear historical accounts of war, survival, and tragedy, along with first and secondhand reports of unexplained encounters, apparitions, strange phenomena, and lingering spirits said to remain anchored to this location. Many believe that places touched by extreme violence and human suffering can retain a powerful psychic imprint. Few locations in the Northeast possess a history as intense as the ground beneath your feet.
Our guides present a blend of historical fact, cultural traditions, local folklore, and eyewitness testimony as they explore the stories that have shaped Fort William Henry’s reputation as one of the region’s most haunted sites.
Earlier evening departures are designed to be family-friendly and focus on haunted history, folklore, and age-appropriate ghost stories. Later departures take a more candid look at the darker realities of frontier warfare, death, tragedy, and the paranormal. While tours do not contain graphic descriptions, explicit language, or sexual content, parental discretion is advised for younger guests attending later departures due to mature historical themes and subject matter.
Photography and video recording are encouraged throughout the tour. Guests are welcome to document their experience and may even capture something unexpected.
