Sébastien le Prestre de Vauban (1633–1707) was a renowned French military engineer, whose fortification designs were influential for over a century. Fort William Henry (1755–1757) exemplifies Vauban-style construction. This workshop will explore Vauban’s military strategies and fortifications, using a replica of Fort William Henry as a case study.
The presentation will take place in a climate-controlled room, but the class will include an outdoor tour. Please dress appropriately for the weather, with a jacket and hat.
