Fort William Henry, a replica of a 1755–1757 British garrison, has 68 artillery pieces (19 historic and 49 replica).  Workshop attendees will get a 1-hour primer on garrison and naval gun (artillery) carriages.  The group will spend the rest of the workshop assisting a professional archaeologist in an inventory and recording of the museum’s replica artillery carriages, many date to the mid-1950s.  Handouts and recording supplies provided.  However, bring a clipboard and pencils if you have one.  Class (rain or shine) limited to 17 people.

Tuition fee supports the cost of forthcoming restoration of FWH’s replica French siege gun carriage and conservation of other museum artifacts.  Workshop sponsored by the French & Indian War Society at Lake George and Fort William Henry Museum.  Must be preregistered.  Preregistration ends three days before workshop.
